Cristiano Sandri Teatro Regio Torino

Graduated in law from the University of Trento, he obtained the qualification to practice the profession from the Court of Appeal of Venice.
To complete my preparation I began studying the piano and the transverse flute.
After working as a lawyer at the Verona Court, he began his career in the Opera Theatre.
In 2008 he was appointed Casting Manager at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
This role led him to interact with the greatest artists on the international scene, including: Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Ozawa, Riccardo Chailly, Daniele Gatti, Laurent Pelly, Robert Carsen, Graham Vick, William Friedkin, Ferzan Özpetek, La Fura dels Baus, Dante Ferretti, some of the greatest soloists and finally Zubin Mehta, Principal Director of the Maggio Musicale, with whom he entered into an intense collaboration aimed in particular at choices relating to casting.
In January 2012 he was appointed Artistic Secretary of the Maggio Musicale. He actively participates and collaborates in very high profile projects such as the new productions of Il caso Makropulos by Leoš Janáček which saw the debut of M° Mehta in this title and the return of William Friedkin to Florence, supported by Michael Curry (set designer, among others, by Le Cirque du Soleil); of Aida, again directed by Maestro Mehta, which saw the debut in opera direction by Ferzan Özpetek, with scenes by Dante Ferretti; the co-production with the Saito Kinen Festival of The Little Cunning Fox by Leoš Janáček, directed by Maestro Seiji Ozawa, directed by Laurent Pelly. In 2015 he was appointed Artistic Consultant for the 2016-2018 programming at the Teatro Lirico of Cagliari. In September 2015 he was appointed Cast Consultant at the Teatro Regio in Parma. In January 2017 he was appointed Head of Artistic Programming at the Teatro Regio in Parma.
From September 2017 to 2022 he also dedicated himself to the artistic direction of the Accademia Verdiana.
From 2017 to 2022 he was responsible for the organization of the “Voci Verdiane” competition in Busseto; in addition to being part of the Jury, he was responsible for the pre-selection of the candidates via video.
From 2021 to 2022 he was Artistic Director of the School of Choral Singing for Children’s Voices of the Teatro Regio of Parma which formed the Children’s Choir of the Teatro Regio for the first time. Since January 2023 he has been Artistic Director of the Teatro Regio in Turin.
